Laura Arth is a life-long artist from College Station, Texas. From her childhood art classes in Mrs. Mogford’s art studio to the many national and international clinics and conferences at which she has studied throughout her adult life, she has developed a love and considerable talent for portraiture and pastels. She believes that pastels produce a radiant and delicate portrait that will last a lifetime.

Laura has an uncanny ability for bringing out the personality of each of her subjects. Pastels are a medium that allow Laura to tweak the subtleties of shadow, proportions, color and features until she is completely satisfied that she has captured the essence of each person she paints. Laura is a member of the Portrait Society of America and has studied under some of the best portrait artists in the country.

For years, when viewing her portraiture work of family and friends, acquaintances have wanted Laura to paint portraits of their children and family members. Fortunately, since retirement from her counselor position at Texas A&M University, Laura has been able to spend as much time in her studio as she wants, offering her considerable talents to the general public.

Her favorite subjects are her three grandchildren, Reid, Davis and Mae.
